Course Length: 5 Days / 40 Hours
- Firearm Requirements: Serviceable handgun with belt holster and ammo pouches,
minimum 3 magazines or speed-loaders for revolvers. - Ammunition Requirements: 750 rounds
- Safety Equipment: Shatter-proof, wrap-around Eye protection,
& Ear-muff hearing protection, hat/ball-cap recommended.
When: 11-15 March 2013. Training will be 5 days long / 8 hrs. a day, 0900-1700.
Where: Canter's Cave 4H Camp, Jackson, Ohio (1 hr south of Columbus, 1.5 hrs. east of Cincinnati)

Training Refund Policy: We have a 50% non –refundable deposit requirement for all classes. To book a class, you will need to provide a credit card number to be placed on our schedule. If you cancel before 45 days of the training event the deposit can be applied to a future course or gift certificate transferable to friends or family members.
If you cancel your training within 45 days of the class date, or fail to show, you will forfeit this deposit. This policy is firm and there will be no exceptions. Booking a class at Student of the Gun is a commitment; you are filling a slot that could have gone to someone else. It has been our observation that last minute cancellations are very difficult to backfill — travel, ammo, time-off, etc. Thank you for your understanding.
Student Housing Available: On campus meals and lodging available for only $50 per day.

Beyond the Band-Aid
Saving your life or the life of someone you love requires more than having a gun. Too often the good guys end up with holes in them and lie bleeding on the ground. Do you have the skills to stop-gap a life-threatening wound while waiting for the professionals to arrive?
During the Beyond the Band-Aid course students will be taught how to recognize a life-threatening injury and how to deal with these. You are far more likely to need your trauma kit than your gun. If you carry a firearm for self-protection you absolutely need the training to save a life.
The Beyond the Band-Aid course is based upon the Tactical Combat Casualty Care program currently being taught to all Military personnel prior to their deployment to combat zones. Innumerable lives have been saved in combat theatres by the application of these principles.

Pistol 101
Every student of the gun needs to start somewhere. Pistol 101 is an introductory course perfectly suited for those who have not yet received professional firearms instruction. This program focuses heavily on safe and effective handling of handgun whether pistol or revolver.
Pistol 101 discusses handgun nomenclature, operation, marksmanship, and live-fire training. Several practice drills will be taught for the shooter to take back and use to improve their proficiency and skill.
Course Length: 1 Day / 8 Hours
- Firearm Requirements: Serviceable handgun with belt holster
and ammo pouches, minimum 3 magazines or speed-loaders for revolvers. - Ammunition Requirements: 250 rounds
- Safety Equipment: Shatter-proof, wrap-around Eye protection,
and Ear-muff hearing protection, hat/ball-cap recommended. - Student Housing Available: On campus meals and lodging available for only $50 per day.

Ballistic Problem Solving
To preserve your life with a firearm you need more than marksmanship skills, you must have the ability to think with a gun in your hand. Ballistic Problem Solving is all about thinking or problem solving while using a firearm. The real world is an imperfect place and we must be able to adapt to survive. This is not a beginner’s course, this is a “next level” program for shooters who are ready to move beyond the basics.
Course Length: 2 Days / 16 Hours
*Pre-requisite: Prior Professional Training
- Firearm Requirements: Serviceable handgun with belt holster and ammo pouches, minimum 3 magazines or speed-loaders for revolvers.
- Ammunition Requirements: 500 rounds
- Safety Equipment: Shatter-proof, wrap-around Eye protection, & Ear-muff hearing protection, hat/ball-cap recommended.
